Climate clubs launched in Mbarara schools, 500 fruit trees planted - The New Vision Article

MBARARA - In a bid to intensify the awareness against climate change, various non-governmental organizations led by Action for Youth Development have launched climate justice clubs in Mbarara schools and about 500 fruit trees were planted.

The launch of the climate justice clubs was done at Kashaka Girls Secondary School in Mbarara district under the theme; 'Inclusion of adolescent girls and young women in the climate change agenda'.

Caroline Owashaba, Executive Director Action for Youth Development noted that coming up with such clubs is aimed at contributing to the adaptation and mitigation of climate change, knowing the values of protecting the environment and how climate change affects them.
